How to Integrate Zapier with Pingzo Uptime Alerts

Uptime checks are the first line of defense during outages. However, detecting a failure is only half the battle: you also need to coordinate incident response. By connecting your uptime alerts to Zapier, you can automate workflows across thousands of applications, from ticketing systems to team chats.

This guide details how to integrate Pingzo with Zapier using custom webhooks to automate your incident response pipelines.

Why Connect Uptime Alerts to Zapier

  • Automated Incident Ticketing: Automatically create Jira issues, Linear tasks, or Trello cards the second a check fails.
  • Custom Status Updates: Update internal customer databases or notify customer support teams automatically.
  • Multi-Platform Notifications: Route alert details to platforms like Microsoft Teams, Webex, or phone system carriers natively.

Step 1: Create a Webhook Trigger in Zapier

To catch alerts from Pingzo, set up a webhook trigger in your Zapier account:

  1. Log in to your Zapier Dashboard and click Create Zap.
  2. For the Trigger step, search for and select Webhooks by Zapier.
  3. Choose Catch Hook as the event type.
  4. Click Continue to generate a unique Webhook URL (resembling https://hooks.zapier.com/hooks/catch/...).
  5. Copy this URL.

Step 2: Configure Webhook Integration on Pingzo

Link the Zapier webhook to your Pingzo alerting system:

  1. Log in to your Pingzo Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Alert Profiles -> Create Integration.
  3. Select Webhook (or Custom Webhook) as the integration type.
  4. Paste the Zapier Webhook URL into the endpoint field.
  5. Set the payload format to JSON and click Test Alert to send sample downtime data to Zapier.
  6. Save the integration and connect it to your active monitors.

Step 3: Test and Map Fields in Zapier

  1. Return to your Zapier setup page and click Test Trigger.
  2. Select the sample alert payload received from Pingzo.
  3. Add an Action step in Zapier to route the alert details to another service. For example, choose Jira and map the Pingzo monitor name, status, and error details directly into a new Jira ticket.
  4. Turn on the Zap.

Your incident response system is now automated: every downtime event detected by Pingzo will automatically trigger your custom Zapier workflow.
